The Position
.Malshej Ghat is situated at a distance of 154 km from Mumbai around a three hour road trip.It is on the State Highway 222, at a distance of 140kms from Bandra. Harishchandragadh Fort, a popular trekking destination, is also situated near Malshej Ghat. It is one of the old trade routes connecting Thitbi in the Konkan to Khubi on the ghats. The approach is easy with the road passing from Kalyan, Murbad and Moroshi, up to the Malshej ghat to Khubi and Otur on the Deccan plateau. Malshej Ghat, just an hour and half away from Kalyan offers sublime experience to savour the beauty of the monsoon magic.

BY ROAD - Mumbai to Malshej Ghat, via Murbad is 154-km Pune to Malshej Ghat via Alephata, is 164-km and from Alephata to Malshej Ghat it is 39-kms.
BY AIR -Nearest airport is Mumbai at 154-km.
BY RAIL -Nearest railway station is Kalyan.
From Mumbai (140 Kms): Take Eastern Express Highway upto Bhiwandi and then state highway road to Malshej ghat.

Those interested in religious journey can travel to Ozar and Lenyadri, two Ganesh temples honoured by all devotees. There is a centuries old shrine of Shiva - Bhimashankar, which is set at the origin of the river Bhima. All these temples are at a close distance.

1. You will get soaked at Malshej Ghat - Equip yourself with a good raincoat (umberallas will be useless) and footwear that can withstand rain.
2. If you are visiting during the Flamingo season,do visit Pimpalgaon-Joga Dam.
